Lisa Bess – Swimming Victoria’s Volunteer of the Year!

On Saturday 21st May 2016 Swimming Victoria (SV) and the Australian Swimming Coaches & Teachers Association (ASCTA) of Victoria held their annual awards evening. With the 2015-2016 season behind us the awards were a great way to recognise and reward the achievements of Victorian swimmers, coaches, technical officials and volunteers throughout the year. This year Kilmore Swimming Club member and Hume Upper Goulburn District Armature Swimming Association (HUGDASA) Secretary Lisa Bess was nominated for and awarded the title of Swimming Victoria Volunteer of the Year. From all of the nominations received the Swimming Victoria Board selected three finalists, from these three finalist Lisa was selected as the winning candidate. Lisa has worked tirelessly over the past five years at the district level organising meets for the five district clubs, developing and implementing the very successful District Encouragement Meet, selecting and managing teams, all while undertaking the general administration and running of the district.

“Lisa is a credit to our District and her club”, District President Lynton Pyle said, “the time, effort and skill Lisa puts in to running our District is second to none, I am very pleased that Lisa’s hard work has been recognised at the highest level in Victorian swimming”.
