2015 Spring Fling

Over the past couple of weeks 67 swimmers from the Kilmore and Seymour swimming clubs competed in the second annual Spring Fling competition. The competition consists of 50 metre individual sprint events combined with relay team events and is swum over two sessions; the first in Seymour on the 9th of October and the second in Kilmore on the 23rd of October.

The meet is designed to bring the teams together to have some race practice prior to the Hume Upper Goulburn District summer season and to promote team work within the clubs, successfully achieved this.

Swimmers from both teams gave it their all and produced some fantastic swims, especially in the relays. Most swimmers swimming on or close to their PB’s even after a hard week at training!

With both teams having a big influx of new younger swimmers since the season started in July, the meet was a perfect introduction to competition for them. Not too many swimmers involved but enough to give them a feel of how swim meets work.

The individual swimmers of the meet were;

  • Junior Female – Samantha Fuller, Seymour 40 points
  • Junior Male – Regan Gardner, Seymour 37 points
  • Senior Female – Alexandra Roberts, Kilmore 37 points
  • Senior Male – Patrick Kelly, Kilmore 37 points

Kilmore won the overall shield with a point’s score of 1136.

Coaches, Presidents, Committee members, parents and swimmers from both teams all agreed that the meet was a great success, they all thoroughly enjoyed the competition and are looking forward to next years. “The meet has been very well received by all and was a great success” Seymour President Tony Tricarico said, ”it’s great to see the two clubs come together to put on such a successful meet”.
